Title: Procurement Specialist Location: MA-East Walpole
PDS is seeking a Procurement Specialist for an open position in Walpole, MA.
In your role you will:
Performs complex buying strategies to purchase and arrange timely deliveries of supplies and materials; expedites as needed and serves as liaison between vendors and users, getting prior approval for purchases in excess of established limits.
Resolves complex delivery, quality or other related problems with purchases and invoices.
Updates project plans and purchasing systems; reviews and analyzes requisitions and supply plans for domestic and international purchases.
Negotiates prices, terms and quality requirements; prepares requests for quotes and assists in the development of new supply sources; evaluates market conditions.
Performs value analysis to identify cost improvements.
Resolves complex delivery, quality or other related problems with purchases and invoices.
Updates project plans and purchasing systems; reviews and analyzes requisitions and supply plans for domestic and international purchases.
Negotiates prices, terms and quality requirements; prepares requests for quotes and assists in the development of new supply sources;evaluates market conditions. Knowledge or understanding of basic science (biology/chemistry) and familiarity with metric conversions would be advantageous. Experience in sourcing biologicals preferred.
Performs value analysis to identify cost improvements.
Member of crossfunctional team(s) aiding in the resolution of problems and the transfer of new products into Manufacturing.
Must be able to act as a resource to intra-organizational functions not experienced in Materials Management.
Must possess good interpersonal skills. Function requires day-to-day contact with multiple departments, functions and levels.
Must be able to assess change impacts as a result of supplier change notifications and initiate associated change control requirements.
Responsibilities and Knowledge:
Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as presented above.
Advanced degree may be substituted for experience, where applicable.
The ideal candidate will have several years experience working with an MRP system, preferably SAP.
Competent to Intermediate skill set level in the use of Microsoft Office suite.
